Dora Deane (Showalter) Slater

Dora Deane Slater, 97, Hastings, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at College View Assisted Living, Hastings, Nebraska.  Memorial service will be Saturday, November 23, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with Pastor Dan Albers officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  There will be no viewing or visitation as her wishes were to be cremated.  Memorials can be directed to the family.  Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Dora was born on March 8, 1922 to Emery and Stella (Andrews) Showalter at Red Oak, Iowa.  She married Ira W. Slater on March 19, 1942 at Rockport, Missouri.  Dora is survived by (1) Son-In-Law:  Bruce Sund, Hastings, Nebraska, (4) Grandchildren and (12) Great Grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter;  Susan Sund, one brother; Daryl Showalter and one sister; Mary Busse.
