Patricia "Pat" Inez (McCool) Kort

Blue Hill resident Patricia Inez “Pat” (McCool) Kort, 82, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at The Pines Nursing Home, Blue Hill, NE.    

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Hill with Pastor Leah Krotz officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, February 4, and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. with family present 6-7 p.m. Monday, February 5, at Merten-Butler Mortuary in Blue Hill. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com. Merten-Butler Mortuary is serving the family.

Pat was born on April 7, 1941, to David and Ester (Rubottom) McCool. She received her education at Alliance, NE. On December 8, 1957, she married the love of her life, Larry Kort. They were married for 62 years.

Pat worked at the Hastings Regional Center for the State of Nebraska from 1986 to 2006. She loved flowers, cooking, and pie baking. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Hill.

This union was blessed with four sons and spouses, Mike & Nancy Kort of Blue Hill, NE, Ken Kort of Blue Hill, NE, Kevin & Donna Kort of Blue Hill, NE, and Lonnie & Carrie Kort of Blue Hill, NE; three daughters and spouses, Peggy (Kort) Meyer of Blue Hill, NE, Pam (Kort) & Heath Arterburn of Blue Hill, NE, Jessica (Kort) and Dusten Patterson of Blue Hill, NE; very close nephew and spouse, Randy & JeNae Kort; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Durham of Boise, ID, Dorothy “Dot” Koller of Eustis, FL, and June Rauert of Fruitland, ID; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Kort; brother, David McCool; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary & Clarence Kort; and brother-in-law, Jerry Kort.
